Cleansing is super important for Korean skincare. There's this notion that one cleanse isn't enough to get rid of all the makeup and pollution your face comes across, and a dirty face means poor skin health and poor product absorption. That's why they were able to let go of all the moisture layers but not double cleansing.

For double cleansing, first use a cleansing oil to get rid of oil-based impurities such as sebum and makeup.

It's Skin Cleansing Foam in Have an Eggshell, Greengrape or Pomegranate, USD 5 / 150ml

The second step to double cleansing is to use a water-based cleanser (i.e. foaming cleansers) to get rid of water-based impurities such as sweat and dirt.

Goodal Phytorain Murumuru Seed Hydra Serum, USD 34 / 45ml

Serums typically are more potent and penetrate more deeply than moisturizers. If you're going to pare down on the layers, might as well stick with the one that's able to nourish your skin the deepest.

People usually only have an AM and PM routine but given how addicted Koreans are to their skincare, it never stops; it's 24/7. Face mists are used all throughout the day to keep the moisture level up.
