I
occasionally
indulge in the nectar of the gods.
On the rare, rare times I do, I like to have a designated eyeliner.
This is usually a liquid-felt pen that is tattoo-like. It has to be extremely durable, enough to withstand three key elements:
sustained elevated body temperature (more heat, more sweat = more makeup breakdown)
humidity from al fresco joints
being a bigger mess than you normally are - don't even deny!
My acid test: wearing eyeliner to a drinking session... and checking it after sleeping on it. Your body goes through so many changes during a drinking session and I feel like it is a good measure of the abuse your makeup can take over an extended period of time.
Heavy Rotation Perfect Liquid Eyeliner N in Deep Black 01, Php 595 / 0.4ml
I hate how loosely "tattoo" and "proof" claims are made on eyeliners. I have a low crease on my left eye that makes or breaks my eyeliner decisions- I know what sticks and what doesn't.
Stila All Day Waterproof
and
Urban Decay 24 / 7
sound like great ideas, but they crease on me so bad on the acid test, along with 80-90% of the eyeliners I try.
Price:
Php 595 / 0.4ml.
Heavy Rotation is available in select Watsons' and SM Beauty stores.
Product Description:
Heavy Rotation Perfect Liquid Eyeliner N
is a brush pen liquid liner with a 0.05mm point. Deep Black 01 is the only shade. I'm not sure if this is discontinued as I can't find it on the
. The
Marker Pen Eyeliner
comes closest, except its tip looks like a stiff felt nib.
How to Use:
Simply glide along the skin to draw. You may shake the pen to activate the metal ball and get more ink out.
PROTIP: The 0.05mm tip allows you to stamp a flick if your hands are feeling a bit unsteady. Simply press the point outward and drag toward the inner corner.

Performance:
This is my top eyeliner! It is probably the only one in my collection that doesn't smudge. EVEN OVERNIGHT. I used to not trust this because it smudged all over my lid. I gave it another chance weeks later and realized I simply wasn't letting it dry long enough! I usually stick my face to the fan for around 10 seconds and once it sets, it's there 'til next morning.

HR Perfect Liquid Eyeliner
is a bit blacker than what I expect from liquid eyeliner. I'm pleasantly surprised because color intensity is usually a weak point for liquid pen liners
however
, it has a shorter lifespan in terms of deeply-black dispensed ink. Kate would take forever to start greying out but I have noticed my HR liner dispensing thinner ink after about two months of inconsistent use. Which isn't to say that it gets used up fast. It is now at least six months since I've opened it and it's still alive and kicking!
The 0.05mm tip is a double edged sword: the fineness lets you stamp a fine flick but if you're not used to stamping and prefer drawing, the too-fine point of contact from tip to skin is almost invisible that you can overdraw connecting lines.
Lines are difficult to connect with the too-fine tip
Wear down looks great. It crumbles off in powder form without smearing all over. It doesn't stain all over, which is greaaaat!
Lasting Power:
Overnight, babe.
Edge:
Does not smudge on my low left crease. It has a lot of other great attributes but very few liners can satisfy this condition!
Rebuy:
Yes. Constantly.
Mayroong forever.

Beauty by Tellie score: 5 / 5 - Trusted By Tellie - HG Liquid Pen Liner
Heavy Rotation Perfect Liquid Eyeliner N in Deep Black 01
Even though I have a lot of Trusted By Tellie items, I rarely declare something to be Holy Grail material. I can be heavily impressed by something while still feeling this conservative nudge toward uncertainty that many other people may validly disagree.
But given my problematic low crease that constantly throws tantrums at the longest-lasting, bulletproof eyeliners... I am glad to finally find one that shows promise.
Heavy Rotation Perfect Liquid Eyeliner N in Deep Black 01
Heavy Rotation Perfect Liquid Eyeliner N in Deep Black 01
is the only eyeliner I currently trust. I will use other eyeliners for only two reasons: I know I will be out less than 6 hours and/or I am going for a smudgy look.
