Sample Success: Eucerin Anti-Age Volume-Lifting
Hello! Sample Success is a variation of my Skincare Snippets tag, where I'll be talking about impressive runs with skincare sample sachets! It's no hidden secret that Korea basically diarrheas sample sachets, so I've amassed a cute collection for myself. I never had any use for them in my old life, but I find them useful now for sudden overnight trips, modelling work (NUK) and short visa runs.
Disclaimer alert: the limited quantity of samples means there is an element of unreliability in Sample Success reviews, but given how shitty my skin normally is, it is a good indicator of how a certain sample can take one from cracked to supple.
Here's my first rave.
On one of my visa runs to the Philippines, I took micellar water in a juice sachet and this Eucerin Anti-Age Volume-Lifting sample pack. I got it from Olive Young around Christmas time, with a free gel candle for a KRW 30 000 purchase. By January, some branches were passing it along even without meeting the purchase requirement. I told you Korea diarrheas samples :[
I've made a rule for myself to use all contents of a sachet all at once, because I hate setting aside half-opened sachets. I used the creams as instructed, one for day and one for night. The first time I used the concentrate, I put it before the day cream but tried it in the recommended order for the night sachet. In the end, the cream could have stretched for at least three uses each, and the concentrate, 2.
I wasn't sure about this set at first. Normally I like at least 3 steps post-cleanser in my routine: moisturizing toner (a.k.a. uhog), essence/serum and lotion, or lotion and cream. I brought random extra sachets, actually. They just ended up unneeded.
The cream was surprisingly effective! The concentrate is almost unnecessary, although I'm not sure I'd feel the same once I start a concentrate-less routine.
The moisture is real. It both sinks in and seals on top, which is surprising for just a cream. The dual effect of both deep and surface moisture is normally achieved through multiple steps, with multiple consistencies of skincare.A cream's moisture would usually sit on top.
A word of warning: take the eye caution seriously. I have gotten used to extending normal skincare upwards towards my eyes but this stings and irritates when spread near the general area of the eyes. Is it the Cetearyl alcohol? I'm not sure, somebody please point me in the right direction.
Beauty By Tellie score: 5 / 5 - I will buy full-size! I hunted and intended to buy the full-size versions in drugstores but ended up not doing so, because I'm leaving soon and imported cosmetics are sinfully expensive in Korea.
